HOW ORIGINAL DOES A SUCCESSFUL GALA EVENING NEED TO BE?

A gala evening is a major event in the life of a company and must convey the values of the business and give a positive image of it. This kind of event needs to be unique and original - but to what extent? How far should you go?

Choose the kind of impression that you want the event to give:

Usually, a gala evening is associated with prestige, but that doesn't mean it has to be stiff and formal! The most important thing is to arouse the interest and curiosity of your guests. The chosen venue can be luxurious or surprising...or fun even.

Everything is possible as long as it matches the image that the company wants to portray; whether that means impressing, amazing or amusing the guests.

Choose a theme that suits the participants:

any big party needs a theme that matches the profile of the participants, like the venue for the event. Originality is needed for the evening to stick in people's memories. Don't forget that a gathering organised within a professional context should always avoid "eccentricities".

It's important to combine originality with quality: you need to allocate a good slice of budget in order to come up with an amazing theme, otherwise you risk not pulling off the desired effect, or worse, making the event a laughing stock.

Depending on the size of the budget allocated, you can offer activities that are out of the ordinary, such as custom visual creations using cutting-edge technologies.

An original idea:
A "Motown" gala evening

Les Absolute produced a gala evening for the Fanuc France company themed around Tamla Motown, the famous American record label.

We designed a special logo in the colours of the label to be used for all the communications around the event. It was reproduced on all the communication materials created for the event: dedicated website, personal invitations for staff, the passes for the evening and posters displayed in workplaces.

The decoration for the venue, including luminous furniture, was designed to illustrate the theme by making reference to the glory years of

Motown, that worked with iconic singers and groups, such as Michel Jackson, The Jackson Five, Diana Ross and so many others....

Accessories and disguises (wigs and glasses) were distributed to participants who, once dressed up, were able to take part in photo sessions around a Cadillac, brought in for the occasion.

A group of musicians, with a brass section and dancers, provided the entertainment for the evening and covered the repertoire of the time and legendary Motown songs. A veejaying performance was provided and a stage set, still within the theme, to complete the festivities.

The evening was a huge success! :-)
